Qatar is a nation catching up to its cultivating neighbours of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. With a huge range of luxury hotels, sand dunes, ancient mosques and other adventures there is a range of activities for all tastes. Qatar being in a desert climate is extremely hot and humid in the summer months and pleasant temperatures in the winter when the World Cup will be hosted. This will result in average temperatures of 25 celsius.

Getting around Qatar
Doha Hamad International Airport (DIA) to city centre
If you are staying in central Doha there are a number of options to get into the centre. When arriving you have the following options:
Metro: The airport sits on the red metro line stopping at stations such as Msheireb which connects to the other two metro lines, Corniche and finishes at Lusail.
Bus: Bus 777 goes centrally following the coast to West Bay & City Centre Doha. Buses 747 & 109 go into the city centre from the airport. Main stop: Al Ghanim Bus Station.
Taxi: Qatar's taxis are a striking turquoise colour. Karwa taxis are a major operator in the area and cant be made on the Hayya app advised above. To the city centre its approximately 50 QAR depending on your location.
From the city centre around Qatar
Metro: The metro system has three lines (Gold, Green and Red) covering 37 stations. The red line goes from Lusail to the airport. The Gold line goes from Ras Abu Abboud to Al Azizya and stops at Sport City. Metro during the tournament will be open until 3am every night.
Taxis: As mentioned are easily recognised by their turquoise-coloured vehicles, Karwa taxis are metered and operate 24/7, Karwa taxis can be ordered or pre-booked via the Hayya to Qatar 2022 app and can be paid with cash and credit cards. Uber and Careem and are also possible alternatives.
Bus: Qatar and Doha is well served by bus also including to and from the airport and a number of the tournament's stadiums and run by Mowasalat. These can be found in the guides below.
